Transport - International in Belgium
International transport services are used for the import and export of goods across borders and are part of a complicated logistics system. A distinction can be made between transport by truck, tanker, ship or aeroplane. Some goods require a special form of transport and packaging, for instance container transport, bulk transport, refrigerated transport, express freight transport or transport of dangerous materials. Lorry drivers are subject to stringent rules about driving and rest times and must observe the traffic regulations specific to each country. For instance, each country has its own specific regulations regarding securing the load by means of lashing-belts.
